Bishop Kearney leadership is dedicated to creating innovative ways to sustain and grow our ability to educate students in a family atmosphere with high academic expectations.
The creation and expansion of an elite hockey program where students live on campus has proven successful over the last four years.
In 2015, Bishop Kearney partnered with Legacy Global Sports, a well-known national youth sports entity, to add 40 female student-athletes on campus. These members of the Selects Academy Girls Hockey team live and go to school at Bishop Kearney. These students have gone on to attend and play hockey for prestigious colleges such as Harvard, Yale, Princeton and Cornell. The additional tuition revenue from these Selects Academy students has allowed us to assist in additional financial aid and subsidy for local Bishop Kearney Students who need additional financial support.

Phase II Launch – January 2020 With the success of the girls’ program, Bishop Kearney is expanding to bring 60 elite male high school hockey players to live on campus and attend Bishop Kearney for the 2020/2021 school year. We plan to add an additional team the following year bringing the total number of male residential students to 80 students. In order to be prepared for this influx in enrollment, Bishop Kearney is committed to improvements across the facilities as well as an investment in additional teachers and staff. |
Ryan Callahan, Olympic Silver Medalist, 13 year NHL Veteran and former 4-time Captain of the NY Rangers joins the BK Selects as Head of Player Development. |

This incredible renovation is lead by DiMarco Constructors (Tony Soprano ’88) and In/Ex Architecture (Jason Simmons P’23). They have done an amazing job of maintaining infrastructure where possible to keep the cost of the project manageable. At the same time, the plumbing, electric and HVAC is getting a major overhaul; plus, 7,500 additional square feet will be added to the space. These student-athletes will have a brand new dormitory space that will put most college facilities to shame. Three adults will also live up there to help the students transition to living away from home. They will plan team building and recreational activities for the group. |
