The mission of Bishop Kearney high school is to empower all students to reach their full potential academically, spiritually, and socially. We believe that community service plays an integral part in the spiritual and social growth of our students. We believe that through service to the community, family, and school, we are able to fulfill the mission of Blessed Edmund Rice and help to create a better society.

In addition, the seven essential elements of an Edmund Rice education are a calling to practice community service.  Specifically, the principle of standing in solidarity with those marginalized by poverty and injustice ties directly back to our history with the School Sisters of Notre Dame and the Irish Christian Brothers.  Both of these groups took it upon themselves to perform the Works of Mercy, both corporal and spiritual, among communities enduring the hardships of impoverishment, discrimination, and isolation. It is in this spirit and tradition that our students are asked to complete community service acts/hours for those less privileged members of society as well as the Bishop Kearney community and families.

Student Service Requirements:

Update – Starting November 1, 2022 ALL service hours must be submitted to MobileServe.

Introducing MobileServe - A student application to record community service hours for all students!  Easy to record, get verification and approval!  Even keeps a portfolio of all hours completed as a BK student.

Bishop Kearney uses MobileServe to track student participation in our service learning program. MobileServe makes it easy to document and verify students’ impact, as well as help match them with volunteer opportunities in their community.
