Ed Nietopski Scholarship Fund

In 2017, Cardinal Mooney alumni from the early graduating classes came together in an incredible way to honor a gentle man who dedicated his life to teaching and coaching.

You know as well as we do, through the years, Ed has become so much more than that to his former students. It has been an honor for us to create this legacy scholarship for him and the student recipients who embody his dedication, empathy and community service.

In just a few short months, thanks to you and nearly 100 generous donors, we raised more than $100,000 for the Ed Nietopski Scholarship Fund in time to celebrate his 90th Birthday. Ed was absolutely humbled and very grateful. When we met to discuss how we would invest and grow your gifts, his main concern was simply helping kids whose families are struggling financially.

So that is what we have done, and we will keep doing with your continued support.

The Ed Nietopski Scholarship is an invested fund that continues to grow. With your help, it will grow faster and help more students every year. If it was not for the Ed Nietopski scholarship, many of our outstanding students may not have been able to continue receiving the parochial, college prep education they and their parents so desperately want for them.

We are asking you to join us in renewing your gift to the Ed Nietopski Scholarship Fund to expand coach’s legacy. It means the world to Ed, his family and the students who emmulate Coach’s work ethic and tireless dedication.
