Many of Bishop Kearney's Alumni Classes have come together to create scholarship opportunities for our hard-working students. The initiative was launched by the Class of 1966 and has grown exponentially. Stay tuned as we add all of the Class Scholarships to this growing page!

THE PIONEER CLASS FUND

In 2016, members of the Pioneer Class got together following their 50th reunion to create the Pioneer Class Committee whose charter “...encourages our classmates to find ways to engage with and support the school as they choose.  We are particularly focused on helping secure scholarships for economically deprived students and their families".

Through their hard work and dedication, the Pioneer Class has raised over $150,000.  They have also created special scholarships to honor the memory of a loved one or a beloved teacher.

If Bishop Kearney High School had a positive impact on your life, and you would like to impact the life of a student in need, please consider a donation to one of the following scholarships in the link above.

THE CLASS OF 1969 SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Thanks to much hard work from the 50th Reunion committee, including Jerry Strauss and Joanne Latucca, a class scholarship was created to help students in need while keeping the legacy of such a great class alive. The scholarship is currently helping students in hardship situations where tuition has become out of reach for the family.  If you would like to get more involved with their efforts, contact Jerry: gjsmmm51@gmail.com

THE CLASS OF 1977 LEGACY FUND

This scholarship was started to help a 1977 classmate with a child at BK who was going through financial struggles.

From JoAnne Palermo Ryan ’77:

“As a class, we spent more than four years together; we literally grew up together.  Whether our circles were large or small, we connected in many ways whether through sports, music, band, theater, or academically. We were an exceptional class: one of the largest in Kearney’s history.  We are all still one Kearney family.

From that solid foundation we all launched into many directions, but our roots were deeply planted in both the faith and power of the Kearney spirit. Our Christian faith reinforced that if a hand was needed by any one of us, a hand was extended. So I’m reaching out to ask for your assistance with one of our own, a classmate who is doing an amazing job raising a teenager on her own.  She is also caring for her frail and aging parents while working full-time and she truly believes Kearney is the best possible fit for her son, who would benefit greatly from this loving, supportive environment.

Unfortunately, even with the generous assistance offered by the school, tuition is out of reach. I am asking you to consider a donation to a scholarship fund to carry forth in the Kearney tradition of taking care of one another.

If you have never made a gift to support a Bishop Kearney student before, I ask you to consider this the perfect opportunity to start. Through these gifts, The Class of 1977 Scholarship Fund will be created to help students who are our legacy – children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Thank you for emulating the values that we were taught more than 40 years ago. Your gift will truly change a life.”
